Do you hate it when guys look at your beautiful wife as if they could actually have a chance with her? This topic needs talking about because some men can get very irritated by this!
Steps
- Learn to control excessively jealous and possessive urges. Allowing yourself to feel them only serves to display a lack of trust in her, and the absence of a sense of self-worth about yourself.
- Seek your wife's permission to intervene on her behalf. If she doesn't recognize the problem then maybe there isn't one. More importantly, if she enjoys being appreciated for her appearance, your interference might be perceived negatively. (Are you sure that you're giving her enough of that kind of appreciation and attention?)
- Show that you are her man; she married you, not them. If you see a guy looking at her, hold her hand, link arms with her, etc. to show that she is married to you, not just a friend.
- Let the other guy know that you see him looking at your wife. If at a restaurant, for example, look at the guy who's looking at your wonderful wife, show him that you are uncomfortable with him looking at her. If that doesn't work, ask the offender politely to stop staring at your wife. Tell him that she is your wife, and you'd appreciate it if he showed her and you a little respect. Most decent people will stop staring at this point.
- Be proud of it. Remind yourself that she chose to marry you because she loves you. The stares of other men are a compliment to her beauty, and should also make you realize how fortunate you are. If this woman is so good-looking that guys keep looking at her, and YOU'RE the one taking her home tonight, stand tall, look the other guys in the face, and smirk. Flaunt it.
Tips
- Don't ask your wife, when going out for meal or a party, to cover up a lot. Don't try to stop her from showing her beauty off. If she's dressing seductively or provocatively, let her know that she's inviting other men to stare, and that this bothers you.
- If you know your wife is not enjoying the attention (the man is creepy!), move to block the socially challenged individual's view.
Warnings
- If you do go and ask another guy to not look at your wife, and he doesn't stop, simply leave. Do not get abusive or angry. This will make the other man get angry and it may cause a situation you could've avoided and may regret.
- Remember that if you get too worked up over trivial things like this, you will look weak, petty and pathetic. If your wife is a good woman (and we assume she is if you married her), she will know how to reassure you.
