How to Deal With an Ex Boyfriend Who Wants More Space

You were in a strong relationship with your ex boyfriend. Everything was perfect, but then he broke things off with you because he has family problems or became insecure in the relationship. Was it this or was he not ready for the big C "commitment"?

Steps

  1. You don't want to lose your pride but you are still in love with him. You may want to try to play hard-to-get or show that it was his loss. If you feel that your ex boyfriend still has feelings for you, try to make small talk.

  2. Once he approaches you and starts making moves then you can reminisce the past with him, including all the good and the bad memories that you guys shared. If he avoids you he is obviously trying to give you a message that he doesn't want to be with you any more. Give him some space.
  3. If your ex boyfriend is giving you signals regarding what he thinks of you, you can try to open your heart to him. Let him know how you feel about him now without not looking desperate and needy. If your ex boyfriend is really showing you that he not interested unfourtunatly you may just let it go or try being good friends with him again.

Tips

  • When you speak to your ex boyfriend don't lose your respect for him.
  • Yes you can pour your heart to him but whatever happens you have to accept his decision. Pouring your heart out to a boy who just rejected you is risky and opens yourself up for more heartache. If he wanted more space to begin with unloading all of your feelings on to him will likely push him away further.
  • You have to tell yourself that it's his loss not yours.
  • Give him a little time and space. Wait for him to make first contact. If he doesn't, perhaps its time to move on.

Warnings

  • Be sure to prepare yourself for a possible heartbreak.
  • Most guys don't want to be suffocated or tied down. No matter how insecure or needy a guy seems, don't be too demanding with his time.
